Vata Dosha is the 1st Dosha, it is characterise by the air element, and it’s mainly situated in the intestine, pelvic region and bones. Its governs all they nervous functions and originator of all the movement in the body ,Vata Dosha influences the movement of thoughts ,feelings ,prana flow ,nerve impulses. There are 80 types of diseases When Vata becowhen Vata become imbalance such as arthritis, stiffness, paralysis, heart diseases and hypertensions etc. Vata Dosha body type is the tallest and thin frame with prominent bony structure and prominent Vain on skin tends to be cold all the time, having dry hair and dry skin. They are not having big robust muscle. Mentally they are very fast, they quick learn and quick forget .Thoughts are always changes but very creative in nature. Emotionally they are very excitable, enthusiastic and they are very easy anxious. They have variable sexual desire.
Digestion power is very variable so they have poor in digestion easy to bloating and constipation. They have dry nasal passage easy to get cold during in winter. Vata individuals are easy to get the insomnia, fatigues and anxiety.

Types of Vata Dosha:
Vata Dosha divided into five types according to the position and function in body.
- Prana Vata: is above the neck and in head they are responsible for the all the brain functions like thinking, voice etc.
- Udan Vata: is in the Thorax responsible for the breathing and respiration.
- Saman Vata: in the intestine responsible for the digestion.
- Apan Vata; is situated in the pelvic regions and is responsible for the all excretory functions.
- Vyana Vata: is situated in the heart and help to heart pump the blood all over the body.

Signs of Increased Vata:
Harshness of voice, twitching of limbs, craving of hot things, loss of sleep, low vitality, hard stool, impairment of senses functions ,giddiness, dryness of skin, tremors in limbs, loss of consciousness, atrophy of muscles, fear ,Grief.
Signs of decreased the Kapha:
Diminished movements, depression, weakness, anorexia (loss of appetite) and nausea.
Signs of Malfunctioning Vata or Vata Out Of Balance Or Vikruti:
Dislocations, dilations of organs, separations, depression, excitement, thirst, tremors, pricking pain, cramps, roughness, harshness, dehydrations, colic pain, numbness, rigidity, contractions of joints.

Vata Body Type Food Plan:
These guide lines can be uses for the Vata dominating body-mind type to keep Vata in balance and also to restore balance if necessary. Vata Dosha influences the movement of thoughts, feelings, prana flow, and nerve impulses.
In General food Vata Body Type:
- Eat warm and cooked food.
- Use Ghee/Oil (Specially clarified butter Ghee which is clarified butter is particularly good for Vata individuals)
- Vegetarian diet but always cooked.
- Favor tastes are Sweet, sour and Salty group of taste are good for the Vata body type.
- Breakfast is highly recommended with warm milk and fruits with herbal tea.
- Raw vegetable and salad should avoid.
- Avoid dry and crunchy food.
- Avoid cold drinks and frozen disserts.
- Avoid carbonated beverages.
- Alcoholic and fermented food.
Use Frequently Food:
Grains: oats, cooked rice, wheat, mustered and sesame seed.
Beans: Cheek pea, mung beans, soybeans/Tofu and pink lentils.
Vegetables:
Onion ,Garlic, beet root, eggplant, spring onions, amaranths ,ginger, curry leaves, Asparagus, Broccoli, Parsley, Zucchini, Mushroom, Lettuce, Carrots, Tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, celery, all green beans, Potatoes and sweet potatoes, squash, peas. Onions cooked, radish, eggplant, Pumpkin, Drumstick, Fenugreek, Gourd, turnip, mint etc
Fruits:
All sweet fruit, mango, banana ,apple ,pomegranate ,blueberries, Indian gooseberry (Amla), black grapes, papaya, orange ,Guava, chikkoo Figs, Jackfruits, casaba ,Muskmelon, apricots, cherries.
Spices: Coriander seed, Fenugreek seed, Turmeric, Nutmeg, Cumin, funnel, Omum seed, ajwaine, dry ginger, saffron, licorice root, rock salt, sea salt, etc
Dry fruits: Pista, cashew nut, almonds, walnut and dates.
Milk products: cow’s milk, Buffalos milk, Goat milk, butter milk, Ghee (clarified butter, Yoghurt, Cheese, panier (home mead cheese), butter, cream.
Meats (Non vegetable): egg, chicken, Seafood, turkey but in small quantity.
Oils: Ghee, sesame, Ground nut oil, Mustered oil, sunflower oil, castor oil.
Sweeteners: all sweeteners are acceptable prefer resin, dates.
Use Moderately Food:
Grains: Rice, ragi, red Gram, Green gram, ground Nut, Corn/Maze.
Vegetable: Bottle gourd, bitter gourd, green Ground, Yam, Kidney beans, Tomato, spinach, Cauliflower, Mushroom, and Fenugreek leafs, okra, Pea, Leafy green vegetables.
Fruits: pine apple, Jamun, Watermelon, Grapes, Papaya, plum, strawberry, Peaches, Rasberry.
Spices: Asafoetida, clove, Bay leaves, Black pepper, cinnamon stick, Black cardamom, Aniseeds.
FOODS TO BE AVOID:
Grain: Millets, Bazaar, rye, Green Pea.
Vegetables: rigid gourd, Radish, Black beans, Cabbage, raw leafy green vegetables, Brussels sprouts, Cluster beans, capsicum, Green chilies, and In general raw vegetable must avoid.
Fruits: Custard apple, cranberries,
Meats (non Vegetables): Red meats, egg yolk,dry fish.
Spices: poppy seeds.
