Khadirarishtam Ingredients, Uses, Dose  &  Side Effects

Introduction:

Khadirarishtam is ayurvedic medicine used for various skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. It is mainly beneficial in diseases in which itching is the main symptom. It is a blood purifier and detoxifies body channels.

Main Ingredients:

Acacia catechu, Cedrus deodara, Psoralea corylifolia and Berberis aristata are main ingredients of Khadirarishtam. These ingredients possess blood purifier action and beneficial in skin diseases. Other ingredients are Woodforia fruticosa, Piper cubeba, Mesua ferrea, Myristica fragrans, clove, cardamom etc. These ingredients increase efficacy and bioavailability of main ingredients of Khadirarishtam.

Pharmacological action of Khadirarishtam:

Pharmacological action of Khadirarishtam depends on four main ingredients Acacia catechu, Cedrus deodara, Psoralea corylifolia and Berberis aristata. These are blood purifier and improve skin texture and color. These ingredients provide a glow to face and also useful in acne or pimples. As per Ayurveda, Khadirarishtam pacifies all three humors. All types of skin diseases are caused by imbalance and aggravation in these three humors so Khadirarishtam is the drug of choice for all types of skin diseases. It reduces itching and soothes skin.

Khadirarishtam has the property of detoxification. It detoxifies the body and assists in excretion of accumulated toxins from the body by enhancing liver functions. Moreover, it has some ingredients, which protect the liver, and repair damaged liver cells. Therefore, Khadirarishtam also has a rejuvenating action for the liver.

Khadirarishtam has anti-bacterial action as well. Especially, it is effective in Helicobacter bacteria. This bacterium is responsible for an ulcer. Khadirarishtam does not directly work on ulcer but by killing Helicobacter bacteria, it becomes beneficial in this disease. However, other remedies are also necessary to treat the disease completely.

  1. Skin diseases – eczema, psoriasis, all types of dermatitis
  2. Liver problems or Jaundice
  3. Spleen conditions
  4. Anaemia
  5. Tumors
  6. Leprosy
  7. Acne vulgaris
  8. Ulcer caused by bacteria helicobacter

Side effects and precautions:

No adverse effect is observed since ancient times in recommended dosages.
