Pitta Dosha Food

 

Pitta Dosha is the 2nd Dosha, it is characterise by the fire element, and it’s mainly situated in the stomach, intestine and liver. Its governs enzymatic action, secretions, and hormones .Its responsible for the digestion, body temperature, and biological transformations. There are 40 types of diseases when pitta become imbalance such as jaundice, acidity, burning sensation, excessive anger, inflammatory conditions (such as headaches and rashes),digestive problems such as acid reflux, diarrhoea and ulcers and become over-stressed etc.Pitta people are typically of medium build. Physically, they have good muscle tone, have a tendency to always feel warm, have premature greying hair or balding, have reddish complexions, they have strong digestion. Mentally, they are extremely intelligent, focused, ambitious people. Emotionally, they are passionate about life, have a tendency to be perfectionists, and can become easily irritated they enjoy high energy levels, they love cold weather. They have moderate sexual disear.
Pitta Dosha is aggravated and increases in the summer and during hot, dry seasons of the year. During this season eat less pitta producing food and follow the below rejuvenate diet chart for the PITTA BODY TYPE Person.
Pitta Body Type Food Plan:
These guide lines can be uses for the pitta dominating body-mind type to keep Pitta in balance and also to restore balance if necessary. Pitta Dosha influences digestions and metabolism, body temperature and biological transformation.

In General food Pitta Body Type:
  • Cool and warm food better
  • The Vegetarian food is good for the pitta body constitution
  • Eat sweet juicy fruits such as mangos and melons
  • Cooling vegetables with high water content
  • Bitter, Sweet and astringent taste of food are good.
  • Avoid the Yogurt, Sour cream, and cheese.
  • Avoid carbonated beverages.
  • Alcoholic and fermented food.
  • Oily, hot salty and heavy food.
  • All processed food and fast food.
  • Avoid using Vinegar in salad, instead use lemon juice.
  • Coffee
  • Egg yolks

Use Frequently Food:

Grains: Barley, Rice (basmati rice), green gram, lentil, watercase, maize, Jawars, sattu.

Vegetables: Asparagus, Broccoli, Sprouts, Parsley ,okra ,Zucchini ,Lettuce, amaranth ,Carrots, cucumbers, spinach, celery, all green beans, Cabbage, squash, peas, onions cooked, potato, sweet potato , pumpkin ,Cauliflower , Sward beans, drumstick, garlic (small amount), Pumpkin, Drumstick, turnip , Fenugreek, Gourd etc

Fruits: Banana, Jamun, water melon, apple, pomegranate, Grapes, Black grapes, papaya, Fig,Custured apple, Chikkoo, cherries(Sweet), coconuts ,oranges ,prunes ,Avocados, pears.

Spices: Asafoetida, Cloves, Cumin’s, Black cardamom, saffron, turmeric, mint.

Milk product: Cow’s milk, Buffalo milk, Goat milk, clarified butter/Ghee
Oils: sunflower oil, coconut oil, olive.
Sweeteners: all sweeteners are acceptable prefer resin, dates.
Beans: Mung beans, cheek pea, tofu/soybeans.

Use Moderately Food:

Grains: Red Gram, Green Pea, Beans.
Vegetable: bitter gourd, Field beans, Snake Ground, Yam, Radish, Kidney beans, Tomato, spinach, Mushroom, Ginger, spring onions Mint, curry leaves, beet roots.
Fruits: Mango, oranges, plum, musk melon, strawberry, Peaches, Raspberry.
Spices: Coriander seed, fenugreek seed, bay leaves, cinnamon, ajwine, Dry ginger, poppy seed,
Meats (Non – Vegetarians): Chicken, shrimp, Fish, prawns.
Milk Products: yogurts
Oils: Groundnut

FOODS TO BE AVOID:

Grain: Millets, black gram, horse gram, sesame seed, mustered, ground nut..
Vegetables: Garlic, Eggplant, cabbage, okra (ladies finger) cluster beans, capsicum, green chilies,
Fruits: Raw mango, Pine apple, green papayas.
Spices: Nutmeg, Black pepper.
Meats (non Vegetables): Red meats, egg yolk.
Sweeteners: Honey and Molasses
