Dasamoolarishtam Ingredients, Uses, Dose & Side Effects
Introduction:
Dasamoolarishtam is boon for pain and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatic diseases or gouty arthritis. It arrests joint degenerations and reduces swelling around them. Dasamoolarishtam is useful in various health conditions such as cough, asthma, abdominal diseases, frequent urinations, loss of appetite and jaundice. It is also given to women after delivery to prevent diseases and to revert uterus’s natural shape and size. It decreases chances of fever and infections. In addition, it is also very helpful to detoxify breast milk if child is not feeding breast milk due its bad odor or taste.
Main Ingredients:
Dasamool refers to ten roots beneficial in vata disorders. The main ingredients of Dasamoolarishtam are Desmodium gangeticum, Vraria picta, Solanum surratense, Solanum indicum, Tribulus terrestris, Aegle marmelos, Premna mucronata, Oroxylum indicum, Umelina arborea, Stereospermum suaveolens etc.
Pharmacological action of Dasamoolarishtam:
Dasamoolarishtam assuages vata humor. Vata indicates made ups of vacuum and air elements in the body. As per ayurveda, imbalanced vata is cause of pain. Therefore, Dasamoolarishtam acts best in pain disorders. It manages pain naturally without having adverse reactions like stomach ulceration by conventional medicines or painkillers i.e. mainly NSAIDs.
As per some modern research studies, Dasamoolarishtam has natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It reduces redness, swelling and pain in affected joints. Due to its anti-inflammatory actions, it can be taken in rheumatoid arthritis, gout and osteoarthritis.
In women, it is prescribed after delivery. Dasamoolarishtam cleans the uterus and removes toxins from uterine cavity. It dissolves clots and let them out from uterine cavity by which it prevents infections and other ailments related to post delivery period. In addition, it has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties by which it becomes beneficial in leucorrhoea or vaginitis too.

Yet, Dasamoolarishtam is well tolerable but it should not be taken in severe burning sensation as it generates heat inside the body. If it is required to take in burning sensation too, then it should be used with licorice or other remedies that has cool potency for digestive system such as coriander or cumin.
